Frito Candy
Frito Candy recipe is a creamy, gooey base of peanut butter candy gets tossed with salty Fritos for a fabulous treat for Christmas. You will drizzle them with chocolate and top them with sprinkles and they are perfect for a holiday dessert tray or gifting.
Frito Candy may sound strange, but I promise it is a delicious combination of salty and sweet that everyone will love and totally be addicted to. I cannot stop eating this stuff and it’s my new favorite of my Christmas Recipes!
Let’s be honest here, we’ve all had those moments where we’re standing in front of the pantry thinking, “You know what this chocolate could really use? A bag of chips.”
These Frito Candies are like no other! You make a quick little caramel peanut butter base that is creamy and gooey without being sticky. It pairs perfectly with the salty, crunch Fritos creating a candy that has everything you could want. A drizzle of chocolate adds a little richness.
Let’s be honest: Christmas is all about indulging, right? The sugar cookies, the fudge, the eggnog, and—wait for it—the Frito candy. Yup, you read that correctly. We’re taking everyone’s favorite salty snack and transforming it into the ultimate sweet-and-salty holiday treat.
Whether you’re a crunchy-snack lover or the type who eats dessert before dinner (we see you), this Frito Candy is your new go-to. It’s the answer to the age-old question: What happens when you combine chocolate, peanut butter, and Fritos?
The answer is pure holiday magic.
Why This Frito Candy is the Best Christmas Snack:
Because salty and sweet is the flavor combination we didn’t know we needed until now (hello, Pecan Pie Bark). You’ll never look at a Frito the same way again (goodbye, boring chip bowl full of corn chips). It’s crunchy, it’s sweet, it’s chocolatey—it’s basically Christmas in every bite. And the best part? It’s super easy to make, so you won’t spend hours in the kitchen while your family does… whatever it is they’re doing. Hint: it’s probably watching Christmas movies and debating whether or not it’s too early to start on the eggnog.
This Frito candy will make you the official snack master and hero of the holiday season. The best part? It’s as fun to make as it is to eat and also easy enough for the kids to help make. Give it a shot this Christmas and watch as everyone do a little happy dance (kids and adults).
Next year and the years following, when you’re stuck in a gift-giving bind, remember this recipe. Everyone loves a homemade treat, and this one is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Merry Christmas, and may your holiday season be filled with sweetness, saltiness, and a whole lot of Frito candy.

- 1 cup creamy peanut butter not organic
- 14 ounces corn chips Fritos or similar I used a 9.25-ounce bag and a half
- 1 cup of chocolate chips or melting chocolate

- In a large pot add the sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter (organic will be too oily).
- Stir to combine and cook over medium heat until it comes to a light boil and everything is incorporated.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the Fritos/corn chips, you want to gently toss them and just get them all lightly coated without crushing them.
- Spoon them out onto a parchment lined baking tray.
- You can make these as big or little as you like but I like to make them about 2 tablespoons worth.
- Let them set up for about 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile in a microwave safe bowl melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals until smooth and melted.
- Using a fork drizzle the chocolate over the candies.
- Top with sprinkles if desired.
