Typically, when I see them on the buffet table at a celebration, I save it until the end as a sweet treat. Others treat it like a fruit side dish and eat it with the main course at the cook-out or party.

Personally, in the case of this banana split variety of dessert salad, it’s definitely something you want to wait until the end of the meal for because of the sweetness. If you’re feeling savage, eat it as a side dish.

Banana Split Fluff Salad takes just minutes to put together. It comes together so easily by just mixing fruit, nuts, marshmallows, and a packet of pudding mix, Add Cool Whip (or any whipped topping brand), and chocolate in one bowl and then refrigerate the delicious mixture until you’re ready to serve. So easy!

The recipe for this salad makes for such a fun and delicious spring and summer treat that’s perfect for potlucks, barbecues, weeknight dinner side dish, or just because. When winter comes and you’re craving a banana split but don’t want to freeze your arse off, this is the perfect choice.

Banana Split Fluff Salad has the same flavors and textures as a classic banana split but swaps out the fattening ice cream for a light and creamy fluff filling. The taste is super satisfying to the taste buds and really takes care of that sweets craving without the heaviness of an ice cream sundae.

The texture of this fluff salad is so unique and unexpected, much like the Cucumber Salad I posted last week. The creamy coating in this dessert is loaded with mix-ins, giving this banana split salad tons of tasty texture with just the right amount of crunch.

From the tender fruit, squishy and soft marshmallows, crunchy nuts, and chocolate chips, you get to experience it all in one dish. You can’t say that about many dishes (well, except my famous Pecan Crunch Grape Salad). Creamy, sweet, tangy, crunchy, and just about everything you could imagine has finally come together in one recipe.

This recipe is actually a great one for the kids to help with and will make you look like a cooking expert come dessert time. I can promise you that everyone will be going back for seconds (and thirds and fourths!) once they have had a taste of this Banana Split Fluff Salad!

Honestly, most eat this fluff salad with a spoon but you can also get wild and serve it with dippers and treat it as a dip. Think: pretzels, Nilla wafers, shortbread cookies, Oreos (!!), broken-up waffle cones. I personally feel that waffle cone pieces would be amazing with this Banana Split Fluff Salad.
