Apple Streusel Coffee Cake
This Apple Streusel Coffee Cake fall dessert recipe just perfect for Fall! This soft, moist cake is easy to make because it starts with a box mix that you jazz up with apples, cinnamon and a crunchy streusel topping.
Apple Streusel Coffee Cake needs to happen in your kitchen this fall. This recipe I’m sharing with you today stands apart from the rest of my fall recipes. What you get with this cake is a light, fruity, sweet cake, with an amazing crispy crunchy crumble or streusel topping. Don’t worry, Cinnamon Apple Pie Bread, we aren’t trying to outshine you. You are the ultimate boss of a cake/bread.
This cinnamon streusel is buttery and amazingly, perfectly textured! It really is something you can just whip together when you have guests coming over your house or need a treat to bring somewhere. I also have a tip at the bottom of this post for making this bread gluten-free so everyone can enjoy it.
Don’t be fooled by the name. This Apple Streusel Coffee Cake actually doesn’t have any coffee in it as an ingredient. Coffee cake actually gets its’ name because generations of people over the years have enjoyed a slice of this delicious cake with a cup of coffee.
The shredded apples in keep the cake so moist and flavorful as it bakes. If you’re a little short on time or just looking for a fun twist on the traditional coffee cake, you can very easily turn this cake into muffins, as well. This is seriously the perfect sweet treat to celebrate apple season. I can’t believe we are even in apple season, but we might as well embrace it. I want my summer back, but you all know my feelings on that!
You can stuff this coffee cake in your mouth as part of a fall breakfast or brunch spread (right next to my Overnight Blueberry French Toast Casserole and a pan of my Mini French Toast Sausage Roll-Ups) or just serve it all on its’ own for a special weekend breakfast fall treat to surprise your family with. Be sure to rinse it down with a warm cup of coffee or hot apple cider. Some of the joys of fall, am I right?
This moist, tender Apple Streusel Coffee Cake is filled with warm, comforting autumn spices, apples, and more for a delicious, fall-inspired take on classic coffee cake. You can even add a simple icing to it if you’re feeling super adventurous. You’ll look like an expert in the kitchen, but it’s so easy since the base of the recipe is started with a cake mix. I am all about simplicity here on Wishes and Dishes.
