Vitamin C Booster Smoothie
Four ingredient Vitamin C Booster Smoothie recipe: a nice thick, cold drink to help fight colds and germs this fall. Keep that immune system nice and strong with a delicious smoothie!
It’s back-to-school time in many parts of the country and you know what that means? Nasty germs are running rampant. I drank this vitamin c booster smoothie and my Sunshine Lemon Smoothie a lot when I was pregnant to help keep me healthy. I knew if I got sick I would have very few options of medicine I could take so I went to great lengths to prevent getting a cold or, even worse, the FLU.
I got sick one time while I was pregnant and I was only about 5 or 6 weeks along. Thankfully that was the ONLY time I got sick throughout the entire 37 weeks. It was absolutely miserable, especially at night when normally I would have just pounded the Nyquil in order to fall asleep. My nose ran all night, I couldn’t breathe, and I had a constant tickle in my throat causing me to cough. I knew after that I couldn’t let that happen again. This Vitamin C Booster Smoothie was a lifesaver!
I make smoothies almost every single day (well, when the baby isn’t napping since my blender is so loud). I like coming up with different ways to make them because I get bored of the same old, same old. My go-to smoothies, if you’re interested, are this Banana-Mango Smoothie and my Blueberry Muffin Smoothie. I love making smoothies as my meal sometimes. They are life-savers when I don’t have time to prepare breakfast or lunch. If you’re looking for something with some added protein, definitely try my Creamy Coffee Protein Smoothie or my Frosted Sugar Cookie Protein Smoothie. I can’t even choose a favorite as I love them all! I’m also loving this Green Orange Smoothie from my friend Sandy and can’t wait to try it out.
- 1 cup frozen mango chucks
- 2 oranges, peeled
- 1 large banana
- 1 cup fresh carrot juice
- Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
This looks terrific — loaded with flavor, and you’re right — a great cold fighter. And since cold season is nigh, this is the perfect prescription. 🙂 Thanks!
Smoothies are a great way to go to get nutrition and vitamins as well.
