Valentine's Day Pretzel Bites recipe is so easy to make for any holiday, it's no wonder they're a classic! Two pretzels that are stuffed with a peanut butter filling and dipped in white chocolate coating. Great for gifts and parties!I’m a huge sucker for salty chocolate treats, so chocolate covered pretzels have always been a favorite treat of mine. Add in the peanut butter and sprinkles, and well, now you’re talking. Valentine’s Day Pretzel Bites for the win! They are seriously AMAZING and almost impossible to stop eating. This has quickly become a favorite of my Valentine’s Day recipes.

Scooping on the peanut butter to make the Valentine's Day Pretzel Bites recipe

This recipe is total perfection. I have fine-tuned this recipe to make sure this one is the absolute best. This is not a complicated recipe, but the ratios still have to be perfect. It has the perfect ratio of crunchy pretzel to creamy peanut butter and LOTS of chocolate. Coarse salt can also be added to the top (I just thought of this genius idea). Of course, I think it takes this right over the top.

I like that these Valentine’s Day Pretzel Bites are small, and you can just pop them in your mouth at your leisure. Dangerous, but convenient. I have done whole dipped pretzel rods in the past, but I feel like kids just eat the part covered in chocolate and waste the rest. These babies work well on a treat table for a holiday party because they’re the perfect size. They also package up nicely as edible gifts!

I like to make them for game night since they’re bite size & easily eaten, but they’re also great for parties and get togethers. Nothing beats a yummy combination of salty and sweet on that holiday candy platter.

You actually can make them for your guests to eat when you have some friends over to watch football. Super Bowl party snack, perhaps? They definitely won’t last until the end of the game; I can guarantee that.

You can easily adapt these to any holiday and use different colored sprinkles. Just choose to leave them plain if you desire, also! You could even drizzle them with a different color of candy melts to make them look extra festive for whatever occasion you’re making them for. If you love a peanut butter and chocolate combination these are going to be a favorite sweet treat for you.

Notes:

  • The most tedious part of this recipe is filling the pretzels with peanut butter mixture. If you have multiple people helping do this step, this will go faster. Perfect for getting kids involved in baking!
  • Work in sections with the melting of the almond bark so it doesn’t harden on you. You should get about 20 treats for every 4 ounces of almond bark.
  • I like to use a mixture of almond bark and good quality white chocolate. Almond bark sets up really nicely but doesn’t taste as good as real chocolate. Real chocolate tastes best.

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and butter together with a mixer until smooth.
  • Add the powdered sugar and mix well (mixture will be rather thick).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper so you have somewhere to put your treats for them to dry.
  • Use a scoop or spoon to scoop about 1 teaspoon of mixture onto the top of a pretzel. Place another pretzel on top to make a sandwich - spread peanut butter if needed.
  • Do this until all the peanut butter mixture is used.
  • Transfer your tray to the freezer and freeze treats for approximately 30 minutes.
  • When you’re ready to dip the treats, heat 4 ounces of almond bark/melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20 second increments (stirring between).
  • Once smooth, remove about half of the treats from the freezer and dip the treats halfway into the almond bark.
  • Place back on the baking sheet and let them cool completely.
  • Once the almond bark is gone, heat the other 4 ounces and repeat process.
  • After all pretzels have been dipped and the first layer is hardened, drizzle remaining almond bark over treats with a fork (use the other 2 ounces if needed).
  • Drizzle a few at a time and top with sprinkles - work quickly before the almond bark cools so that the sprinkles stick.
  • Let the treats cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  • Package the treats up for friends and family or serve them on a plate. Enjoy!
