No matter what we have going on throughout the year dinner time always seems to be super hectic. Everyone seems to get hungry all at once and then we need something on the table…like, fast! I like to have recipes like these Cheeseburger Biscuit Bites on hand so that I don’t have to stress about finding complicated ingredients for a tough recipe. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
These are also the perfect appetizer for the Super Bowl or game day! Everyone will go crazy over them.
Another reason I love to make these quick and easy cheeseburger bites is that everyone loves them. The whole family will eat these without protest, much like my Jalapeño Cheeseburger Party Buns. Sometimes that is the greatest gift of all!
Are these cheeseburger biscuit bites a budget friendly dinner?
Yes, these cheeseburger cups are an inexpensive dinner recipe that is easy to prepare and plan for, you can keep most of these ingredients on hand in the refrigerator or freezer!
If you are trying to stick to a meal plan or a budget right now this is a great recipe for you to add to your list for this week. It is simple, easy, budget friendly, and it won’t come with any of those infamous meal complaints from your family! Everyone loves a cute little burger, right?
Here’s what you need to make this quick and easy dinner recipe:
Most of these ingredients are probably already in your pantry and refrigerator. Usually, the only things I have to grab are the biscuits and the ground beef, it’s one of the main reasons why I love putting this recipe on my meal plan for the week! Less grocery shopping is always better in my opinion!
- 8 refrigerated biscuits
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 8 small squares of American cheese
- Small pickles and shredded lettuce, for topping
I don’t like Worcestershire sauce, can I leave it out of this recipe?
I don’t think that the Worcestershire sauce is prominent in this recipe. It’s only 1 tsp and combined with ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar it’s not very noticeable. If you feel strongly about it you can leave it out, but just know that it’s not an overwhelming flavor in the meat!
How to make cheeseburger biscuit bites:
Making these cheeseburger biscuit bites is easy and quick. I love that I can have dinner on the table in 30 minutes or less and that all of the ingredients come together in one skillet and one muffin tin. Yay for less cleanup and dishes afterward.
- Crumble and cook beef in a skillet, drain grease
- Mix in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and brown sugar.
- Grease a muffin tin and line 8 cups with refrigerated biscuits (pressing down)
- Divide the meat mixture amongst the 8 cups. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, or until biscuit dough is slightly brown and baked.
- Top with cheese squares and bake a few additional minutes until slightly melted.
- Top with a little extra ketchup, pickles, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, etc.
Can I make these cheeseburger bites for an appetizer?
Absolutely! You can make cheeseburger bites for lunches, dinners, and even appetizers. They can be scaled down by cutting the biscuit dough to place them into smaller muffin tins. You can also make the regular sized ones for a party or family gathering. Everyone will love them and since they’re so easy to make you don’t have to stress about providing something super involved!
Tips for even more amazing cheeseburger cups:
If you want to make your cheeseburger biscuit bites even more cheesy you can add a layer of cheese in the middle of the burger. Just put some in, add your cheese, and then put more meat on top before you put the final layer of cheese on top. This will make your biscuit bites even more cheesy and delicious. I do this with my Cheeseburger Flatbread Melts, as well.
If you end up with some leftover meat you can put a little more in each cup or you can save it for a salad later in the week. It makes a great taco salad or you can incorporate it into another recipe!
If you have little ones that like to help in the kitchen this is a great recipe for them! Once the burger mixture is cooked most of the ingredients are cold and the process for making these cheeseburger biscuit cups is simple. They can help assemble the cheeseburger cups and feel like they’re involved in an important family task.
