Layered Valentine’s Day Strawberry Fudge
Layered Valentine’s Day Strawberry Fudge recipe requires just four ingredients and can be made in under 10 minutes! Pretty and super cute gift for your Valentine.
Valentine’s Day is coming up! If you love the sweet taste of strawberries and cream this pretty Layered Valentine’s Day Strawberry Fudge will be the perfect recipe for you. It is so soft and creamy and has sprinkles speckled throughout. I love fudge recipes!
This fudge tastes like strawberry milk and is a gorgeous color scheme to perfectly match the pretty-colored holiday. We aren’t huge Valentine’s Day people in our house, per say. It’s not even that I don’t WANT Valentine’s stuff, I mean… but we have a kid and in this season of our life, our Valentine’s activities generally revolve around fun crafts and sweet treats for her. She’s aware that Valentine’s Day is coming up and she’s actually really excited this year. It gets fun once kids are old enough to appreciate the holidays and be aware of them.
Making fudge nowadays is simple once you get the hang of it. I love my all-time favorite Crock Pot Triple Chocolate Peanut Candy. Today we’re making a Valentine’s strawberry fudge recipe that the kids can absolutely get involved in making! It is actually so easy that I always seem to keep coming back to it when in need of something really sweet or for some pretty homemade gifts. I also really enjoy making it for the holidays, such as Valentine’s Day.
To tell you the truth, I normally only make fudge when I need some homemade gifts. When I make an entire pan of it, that huge portion of fudge is definitely too much for my family of 3. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I can pound an entire pan’s worth.
You can get all fancy and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for this Strawberry Fudge! You can swap flavors of candy melts in this recipe or use a different type of extract and food coloring depending on the occasion you’re making it for! Feel free to have some fun with it.

Tips:
- If your fudge turns out a little bit too hard or seems to fall apart or crumble when you’re cutting it, this means too much chocolate was used. You’ll need to reduce the chocolate the next time around. It will still taste yummy!
- If your fudge won’t set up well, it means you didn’t use enough chocolate. To fix this, increase the chocolate used or decrease the amount of frosting the next time you make it.
- The chocolate will slightly seize up when the strawberry frosting is added to it. This is totally normal. You just need the mixture to be pourable. The more you stir it, the better it will get.
- Do not add the strawberry extract directly to the chocolate or it will destroy the chocolate and you’ll have to start over. The extract has a strange effect on chocolate.
- If you can’t find strawberry candy melts, don’t stress it. The extract still adds plenty of strawberry flavor. You can just use just plain pink candy melts instead.
- If you can’t find candy melts, you can use white chocolate chips and color the chocolate with oil-based food dye. Do not use water-based dye or it ruins the chocolate, as the extract does.
Layered Valentine's Day Strawberry Fudge
Ingredients
- ● 1 Container/tub Buttercream Frosting 16 ounces
- ● ¾ Cup Red Candy Melts
- ● 1 Cup Strawberry Flavored Pink Candy Melts or just use pink unflavored
- ● 1 Teaspoon Strawberry Extract
- ● Valentine’s Mix Non-Pareils Sprinkles
- ● White, Pink, Red Heart Sprinkles optional
Items Needed:
- 8x8 Square Pan
- Parchment Paper
Instructions
- Place the red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high, in the microwave, for 2-3 minutes or until smooth when stirred. Stop every 15-30 seconds to stir during the melting process to ensure the candy melts don’t overcook.
- Follow step one for the pink candy melts, keeping the two colors separated.
- Remove the lid and film from the frosting and place it in the microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until fully melted and smooth. Set aside ½ a teaspoon of uncooked frosting if using the heart sprinkles.
- Add the extract to the frosting and stir well.
- Place half of the frosting in with the red candy melts and the other half with the pink candy melts.
- Stir each color vigorously until fully mixed.
- Line your 8x8 pan with parchment paper, making sure to leave some overhang.
- Alternate pouring in the two colors in random spots, pausing to tap the pan in between so it evens out and removes bubbles.
- Once all your chocolate mixtures have been poured in and evened out, sprinkle the top of the fudge with as many Valentine’s themed non-pareils as you like.
- Place in the fridge to chill for 2 hours or until hardened.
- If desired, use the set aside frosting and place a dab on the back of a heart sprinkle, and press it into the middle of each fudge square you cut for a cute addition! Enjoy!
