Instructions

  • Set out your cups on a tray; set aside for later.
  • In a large measuring cup with a spout or a mixing bowl with a spout add 1 cup of boiling water and your purple jello mix.
  • Whisk thoroughly until the jello is dissolved.
  • Mix in ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka.
  • Whisk.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the cups about a quarter- 1/2 way.
  • Place the tray in your refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the layer is set.
  • In the meantime, make your orange jello using the same method.
  • Mix the orange jello with 1 cup boiling water until dissolved then add in ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka.
  • When the purple layer is fully set, carefully pour the orange jello on top.
  • Place them back in the fridge for 2+ hours or until they are set.
  • Meanwhile, make the chocolate spiderwebs, if using.
  • To make these, in a microwave safe bowl, microwave the chocolate chips in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
  • Transfer the chocolate to a ziploc bag and snip off the corner.
  • Pipe your spiderwebs onto parchment paper and let them chill in the fridge to harden.
  • When ready to serve, top each one with a squirt of whipped cream, plastic spider, sprinkles or a spiderweb (or any combination of these). Enjoy!

Notes

Tips:

Some people prefer the 2 ounce cups for jello shots and those work fine, but you will get less shots out of each batch.
This recipe is easy to double or triple depending on amount of party guests.
You can use flavored vodka if you prefer.
I would wait until you are ready to serve before topping with the whipped cream, sprinkles or spiderwebs.
These can also be made non-alcoholic by substituting the vodka for water.
You can also top these with Halloween sprinkles, fake plastic spiders or gummy worms.
