Grinch Cookie Cup Bites recipe is inspired by Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! They are chewy sugar cookies that have been colored green and adorned with a red heart for a fun holiday dessert!

1- 16.5 oz ready to bake sugar cookie dough
12 oz green chocolate melts
16 heart sprinkles

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a mini cupcake/muffin pan with non-stick spray.
Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and roll them into balls. Press one piece of the cookie dough into each muffin cup.
Bake for 11-12 minutes until the cookies are golden brown.
As soon as they come out from the oven, press 4-5 pieces of the green chocolate melts into the center of each cookie.
Place it back into the oven for 2 minutes until the chocolate melts. Use a spoon to spread the chocolate around in the middle.
Top the chocolate with the heart sprinkles.

FAQ and Questions:

What type of sugar cookie dough did you use?

I recommend using the Pillsbury cookie dough found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.

Can I use another type of cookie dough?

Yes, I was thinking of making these with the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie dough just because I love the flavor of those cookies.

I’m not too fond of the taste of the green melting chocolate. Is there something else I can use in place of them?

You can get a tub of vanilla frosting and add some green food coloring to it. Then you can place the frosting in a piping bag and pipe it right into the center of the cookies like it’s a cupcake.

Where do you find the heart sprinkles?

I found these at Michaels craft store, but they are not available online for some reason. If you don’t have a Michaels store around, you can buy these Wilton heart sprinkles instead.
