The best and very easy recipe for the popular cocktail and my personal favorite, the Piña Colada!

The best and very easy recipe for the popular cocktail, the Pina Colada.

What better time to post a tropical drink on my blog than when I’m spending time in Honolulu, Hawaii?!  This place is truly paradise!  This is a perfect Piña Colada, and believe me, I’ve tried many versions.  The coconut milk and cream of coconut make it extremely creamy and the fresh pineapple gives it the right balance of flavor and fresh taste. This will be sure to be a hit for your 4th of July party and is so much better than using the pre-made mix! Your guests will be so impressed.  I honestly don’t think I can ever go back to using the store-bought mix again after making it this way.

You can make this drink in larger batches for a party, or you can make them individually, one at a time as needed.

Note:  add more rum for a stronger drink, this one is a little on the weak side (so if that’s your preference, keep it the way it’s written).

Instructions
  1. Fill blender halfway with ice cubes.
  2. Add rum, coconut cream, coconut milk and pineapple chunks.
  3. Puree until well blended and no chunks of ice remain.
  4. Serve immediately for best results (or it will get too melty/icey tasting), garnished with a slice of pineapple and maraschino cherry, if desired.
