Johnsonville Original Brats for grilling.

The best way to celebrate Independence Day is with delicious Johnsonville Sausage made right here in the good ol’ USA. I like coming up with new recipes to try out on the grill for the summer. I love my old tried and true grilling recipes or just a good steak on the grill, but switching it up once in a while is always a good idea. I decided to try out these Grilled Beer Brats with Mango Lime Salsa. Not only do these taste amazing, but they will look impressive at your BBQ’s and picnics. Do you eat brats in your neck of the woods?

I use Johnsonville sausage in my recipes often, but this was my first time trying their fresh brats. If you’ve never tried beer brats before, do yourself {and your loved ones} a favor and try this recipe soon. I loved how fast they cook up when I need to think of something to make for lunch or dinner and don’t have a lot of time.

With a newborn baby at home, the grill has been saving my life lately and it was fun to try something new with the brats. Johnsonville brats have the perfect taste just as they are, but I chose to jazz them up for this recipe. The salsa really gives them a unique twist, makes it completely refreshing and bright, and the combination just makes me so, so happy. You can make the salsa ahead of time to save yourself time at your 4th of July parties.

I’m also really looking forward to trying Johnsonville’s Firecracker Brats. You know I adore my spicy food! The Firecracker Brats are available for a limited time so if you or your dinner guests like brats with a bit of a kick to them be sure to find them soon at your grocery store.

A good July Fourth BBQ celebration is never complete without some outdoor activities and I have another cool thing to tell you about. When I think about outdoor games to have at your cookouts, cornhole is one of the first that comes to mind. The American Cornhole League’s Pro Invitational event at Coney Island is being sponsored by Johnsonville!
