Serves: 2-4 cups, depending on size of apples
Ingredients
  • 4 apples, cored and chopped (not peeled)
  • ⅓ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • a pinch of cloves
  • a pinch of sea salt
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients together in a small saucepan and stir. Heat over low heat and cover, cooking for 1 hour. Stir occasionally, making sure that no apples are sticking to the bottom.
  2. After an hour, the apples should be caramel-colored and completely broken down.
  3. Add the mixture to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. (You can skip this step if you like it chunky.)
  4. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
