Cook time
Total time
Rich and sweet Apple butter made on the stovetop spiced with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and honey. Perfect fall recipe that will leave your house smelling amazing.
Serves: 2-4 cups, depending on size of apples
  • 4 apples, cored and chopped (not peeled)
  • ⅓ cup apple cider
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • a pinch of cloves
  • a pinch of sea salt
  1. Combine all ingredients together in a small saucepan and stir. Heat over low heat and cover, cooking for 1 hour. Stir occasionally, making sure that no apples are sticking to the bottom.
  2. After an hour, the apples should be caramel-colored and completely broken down.
  3. Add the mixture to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. (You can skip this step if you like it chunky.)
  4. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
