Ingredients
  • 2 oz hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • 3 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate until melted and smooth.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar.
  4. Add 1 egg and melted chocolate. Beat until well combined.
  5. Add milk and vanilla, beat until incorporated.
  6. Add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in chopped hazelnuts.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge minimum 3 hours or overnight.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat..
  9. Roll the dough into balls and then coat very generously with powdered sugar. Place on the baking sheet 2 inches apart since they spread a bit in the oven.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
