Easy, creamy Stovetop Macaroni & Cheese recipe is a simple way to get dinner on the table when you're short on time. It can also be a party appetizer or potluck idea!

  • 8 oz. elbows or shells, cooked according to package directions
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2¼ cup whole milk or half 'n half
  • 8 oz. sharp white cheddar (sometimes I mix yellow and white), freshly shredded
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add flour and dry mustard and cook while whisking occasionally for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Slowly pour in whole milk while stirring with whisk. Cook and continue whisk until smooth.
  4. Bring to a light boil and boil for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add shredded cheese, stir until smooth and completely melted.
  6. Stir in warm cooked pasta.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
