If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you know that my husband and I recently bought a house and added on a really nice stamped concrete patio to the back of it last fall.  I have been getting some good use out of it and have spent a lot of time out there this summer (more than I probably should!) and there’s nothing I love more than relaxing in a lounge chair in my very own backyard with an easy-to-make cocktail or some sort of frozen treat to cool off with (and to attract the bees – ha ha).  I also like to include these frozen treats when I do my favorite thing of all time to do in the summer – outdoor picnics.  Speaking of which, I haven’t had even ONE yet this year!

Fruttare Frozen Fruit Bars

I bought these delicious, healthy Fruttare fruit bars for the first time last weekend and they are my new go-to snack for a lazy hot summer day.  I picked up a few different kinds (strawberry, strawberry and milk, and banana and milk) this past weekend at Wegmans but they are available at many stores nationwide!  I really think I’ve found my new favorite fruit bar.  What I love most about them is that they have chunks of real fruit in them and also real fruit juice.  They have a wide variety of flavors, including black cherry, which is next on my list to try.  Some of the flavors that I bought even have real milk added to them for extra creaminess – they are like smoothies on a stick!  You can eat these right out of the box or make fun drinks with them like I did (recipe below using the strawberry fruit bars).

This is the banana flavor!

I hope you enjoy these strawberry daiquiris as much as I did making them…and drinking them 🙂  Be sure to check out the Fruttare website and their Facebook page for more information about their frozen fruit bars.
